ADAM HOPPER & THE WIMPS THE BUTTERFLY
Manchester-based anti-folk outfit Adam Hopper & The Wimps have released ‘The Butterfly’. Adam Hopper explains that this is “a song about hiding away from the sad world in the safety of your quilt cocoon, before emerging once more into the daylight, rejuvenated, to slay your enemies.” Musically, it’s breezy and whimsical, delivering its enigmatically awkward anti-folk in a succinct two-minute package. There’s a certain charm to the band’s jangly sound, with its melodic dual vocals sitting perfectly above the lo-fi production, which retains a catchy warmth throughout. You can catch the band live around the UK this Autumn. -Dan Peeke
